How You’ll Make an Impact
- Set-up stand for customer compressor testing. Maneuvering large stands, I-beams and bolting in place. Working at heights assembling pipe spools and pipe loops.
- Assisting the test engineering group to monitor and run compressor testing. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Review Assembly instructions, specs and blueprints.
- Inventory, clean and visually inspect all components and stage all equipment needed for assembly and safely offload incoming parts off transport using proper lifting/ rigging equipment and techniques.
- Perform measurements and adjustments as necessary for correct tolerances, record measurements for review.
- Notify management/engineering of issues and deviations from print and regularly carry out and document simple maintenance and cleaning work according to the specifications or maintenance plan. Carry out minor repair within the scope of the available expertise.
- Work with management/engineering to refine assembly best practices and Train less experienced Test setup Assembly Technician. Use micrometer and indicators to measure tolerances to +/-0.001”, hand tools, air grinders and overhead lifting devices. Your secondary assignment will be assisting Core compressor mechanic team in building compressors and Packaging team mechanics in assembling packages.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years relevant experience in Assembly of Rotating Equipment Manufacturing.
- Preference given to applicants with specific expert knowledge of Siemens Energy Turbomachinery rotating equipment assembly (particularly RF and Datum range of turbo-compressors) including development and interpretation of technical assembly instructions, build methods and sequencing of core compressor internals and auxiliaries.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
