    About the role

    Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance – PAYM, this is a key role within the Consumer Commercial Finance team, working as a dedicated finance business partner to the Commercial Revenue team. This role has responsibility for all aspects of Consumer PAYM Retention managing delivery of the critical churn number and the 3.5 million annual upgrades to optimise value, volume & mix.

     

    This person will need to work collaboratively with teams across the company to deliver business plans, financial targets, and successful customer propositions in relation to Retention and Upgrades.

     

    They will provide financial management, leadership, and insight, enabling good decision making and driving business success through commercial support & financial analysis of performance, helping identify opportunities to drive financial performance improvements.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Decision support to manage retention performance and investments:

    Provide decision support to the Consumer Props Management team on all aspects of retention, where appropriate suggesting alternative solutions to help balance at times conflicting priorities. This includes managing the Discounting budget and vision deal calculator outcomes.

    • Forecasting & Budgeting:

    Working with the business to overlay risks and opportunities and achieve buy in to the assumptions and targets.

    • Commercial analysis & insight:

    Analyse disconnections, upgrades, discounts, change in subscriptions, channel mix & call information to understand retention performance, identify risks and opportunities. Utilise this information to support and challenge the business to deliver the best commercial results.

    • Business case development:

    For retention/upgrades offers and campaigns led by the marketing team. Must be comfortable to make assumptions & justify them when all the facts are not available.

    • Performance Review:

    Review monthly retention performance and provide insight in the P&L review to drive actions to successfully deliver the key financial and customer targets across Retention.

    • Reporting

    Manage the monthly discounting reporting and lead performance review in the discounting forum.

    • Trading

    Provide decision support/be up to date with the trading position of our overall Consumer PAYM P&L.

     

    What We Need from You:

    Essential Skills:

    • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
    • A highly motivated self-starter, able to deliver high quality commercial support with minimal guidance.
    • Highly commercial and analytical with the ability to identify key messages and influence decisions.
    • Strong track record in building relationships and influencing and driving the decision-making process.
    • Ability to prioritise multiple demands to ensure greatest value add and managing expectations.
    • Able to proactively solve problems and make decisions on day-to-day issues.
    • Excellent communication skills across different levels of stakeholder.
    • Must have a detailed understanding of the mobile business including knowledge of key competitor trends and threats to mobile business.
