We’re looking for a Design Manager
to join our Severn Trent team based in Solihull.
Location: Solihull – hybrid working available
Contract: Permanent
Our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks division brings the built environment to life, keeping people and businesses connected. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring technically compliant, cost-effective, and environmentally considerate solutions are developed in the pre-construction phase, meeting the Client’s AMP objectives and regulatory commitments.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Design Manager
, you’ll be working within the Severn Trent team, supporting them in delivering optimal design solutions that meet performance and programme requirements for the Worcester Wastewater Treatment works.
What does the day to day in this role like?
Your day to day will include:
- Managing the technical approval process, consents process, and governance required to deliver the schemes.
- Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and promoting health and safety in design activities.
- Leading and managing the design team to achieve project goals on time, cost, quality, and health and safety.
- Overseeing project and design budgets, forecasting design costs, and driving efficiency through innovation and design reuse.
- Building trust and integrity with the Client by providing timely information, managing risks and opportunities, and ensuring compliance with Client-specific delivery processes.
What are we looking for?
This role of Design Manager
is great for you if:
- You hold a degree-level engineering qualification and ideally have CSCS accreditation or are willing to obtain it.
- You have a full UK driving licence and are willing to travel to sites and Client meetings as required.
- You have a sound understanding of design principles within the water industry and are familiar with Client standards and regulations.
