A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Chemist (f/m/d) you will be part of an expert team which supports all areas of the global Compression group. The chemists support selection and testing of elastomers, metallics, and coatings which are used for the Compression products. This role will have hands on testing and review of technical documents (internal and external). The chemists are support by a full chemical laboratory in the Duisburg, Germany facility and be support by additional international teams. The role is part of our Product Management organization which supports all the compression products line within the Compression group.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Coordinate the development of solutions in the areas of process chemistry, corrosion protection, and oil technology holistically. Define and coordinate technical requirements for assigned development tasks
- Define and, if necessary, further develop test procedures and equipment, e.g. erosion or corrosion tests for different materials with different objectives
- Evaluate and implement test results, e.g. in works standards, process regulations, work instructions
- Processing complex and extensive customer specifications and contract documents (also in at least one foreign language), defining the material and corrosion protection requirements and evaluating them technically, cost-wise and on schedule
- Coordination and support of the implementation of the measures in production, e.g. special coating or surface treatment processes
What You Bring
- A completed (technical) university degree in the field of chemistry or corrosion protection
- Ability to work in a team, analytical skills, structured and result-oriented working style, meticulous approach to work
- Motivation and flexibility
- Good knowledge of German and English, both fluent in written and spoken language
