    We have a
    need for a skilled Seasonal 
    Field Service Technician. Our Seasonal
     Electromechanical
    Field Service Technician
    will be based in our office Pittsburgh and travels
    to power plant sites across the Americas including the United States, Canada,
    Central and South America to provide nondestructive testing services.  This position will support the Specialty
    Services product area, which includes non-traditional testing services such as
    remote visual and robotic inspection services.

    How You’ll Make an Impact:

    • Prepare
      for and support field service jobs at power plants located at domestic and
      international job sites, with a focus on visual, electrical, and mechanical
      testing in large electric generators and/or turbines using remote robotic
      inspection equipment.
    • Perform
      field inspections per Siemens requirements.
    • Travel
      (up to 60% annually for this position) to power plant sites.
    • Support
      customer power plant outage planning and production control by ensuring the
      timely delivery of tools, personnel and field inspection activities through the
      application of field service systems and procedures.
    • Prepare
      shipments of test equipment for domestic and international shipping.
    • Support
      development of new and continuous improvement of existing specialty service
      applications and tooling for use in the field.
    • On-site
      and off-site technical and operational support in the design, development,
      installation and maintenance of equipment and systems of a complex nature.
    • Oversight,
      planning, and performance of maintenance associated with complex tools, test
      equipment, calibration items, etc.
    • Communicate
      technology and inspection findings to global Siemens team members and with
      internal and external customers.
    • Support
      the product line in achieving service quality, customer satisfaction and
      financial objectives.

    What You Bring:

    Required:

    • Two-year associate degree, or greater, in Electronics or Electromechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
    • Willing and able to travel 60% of the time
    • Demonstrated
      mechanical & electrical, hands-on skills.
    • Must
      be Self-Driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work
      well in groups.
    • Very
      strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver the highest quality work
      in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Flexibility
      to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules
      and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.
    • Must
      be able to pass extended background check for unescorted access to Nuclear
      power facilities.
    • Must
      be able to access tight confined spaces and work in small spaces for extended
      periods of time.
    • Applicant must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without
      need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens
      Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal
      transfers

    Preferred:
    • 3-
      5 years of related work experience.
    • Knowledge
      related to the inspection of turbine and generator components.
    • Problem
      solving and troubleshooting skills associated with repair and diagnosis of
      electro-mechanical equipment, video equipment, and computer systems.
    • Ability
      to understand and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
    • CAD
      experience.
    • Microsoft
      office skills.
    • Prior
      experience with Siemens Field Service.
    • Lean
      or Six Sigma process improvement training/skills.
