    We are looking for a Property Accountant to join our Finance Team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Month end property & utilities postings for all UK restaurants including rent, service charge, business rates, insurance & lease incentives.
    • Point of contact for all landlords including providing them with sales, discussing payment timings and querying any charges as required.
    • Preparing all property payments each month and meeting with the CEO for his approval.
    • Preparing the weekly property creditors report.
    •  Preparing the property forecast for the next 2 months and updating this weekly.
    • Preparing a monthly property payments schedule and a cashflow forecast for the next 6 months.
    • Preparing the annual property & utilities budget for all UK restaurants.
    • Calculating and forecasting SDLT to be paid on new leases.
    • Negotiating with landlords to gain more favourable payment terms.
    • Monitoring the status of all ongoing negotiations for payment of Covid rent arrears and ensuring these are correctly accounted for in the P&L and that cashflow forecasts are accurate.
    • Providing information to lawyers to assist in ongoing negotiations on rent arrears.
    • Answering queries from the CEO on leases and arrears balances for landlords.
    • Reviewing service charge budgets to establish which costs are included.
    • Liaising with the external business rates advisor on any rates savings he can achieve.
    • Reviewing new leases and ensuring they are correctly accounted for and that all key information is noted.
    • Keeping track of all utilities invoices and querying any that don’t seem reasonable.
    • Liaising with external auditors and providing them with support for all yearend property related queries.
    • Non-property relating tasks including reconciliations for D&D gift cards and virgin experience vouchers.
    • Other ad-hoc tasks and supporting other members of the team when there is less property work required. Potential for the role to evolve and become less property focused after outstanding covid arrears negotiations are resolved.

    Key Requirements & Competencies:

    • Part qualified (ACCA/ CIMA).
    • Experience of dealing with landlords and exposure to lease accounting.
    • Strong Excel skills – VLOOKUP’s, pivots, SUMIFS etc.
    • Strong track record of success and achievement to date and good academic background.
    • A keen eye and strong attention to detail.
