We’ll rely on you to create dishes that not only look and taste delicious, but that also reflect each individual’s likes, dislikes and dietary needs. We pride ourselves on our catering service which is why the role of Bank Head Chef is so important. You’ll be on hand to provide cover for any planned or unplanned absences, and to ensure the continuity of our high standards. In particular, you’ll design menus, manage all aspects of the kitchen, control the budget and lead the catering team. Your hours will vary depending on our needs, but whenever you’re here, you’ll always be committed to excellence.

ABOUT YOU
You’ll need previous experience at this level and a basic food hygiene certificate to join us as a Bank Head Chef. If you have a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706 1/2 (or equivalent), that would be ideal. We’re looking for someone who combines creative flair, nutritional understanding and leadership skills with a personable approach and a genuine interest in our residents. Our considerate and caring chefs are a big presence in our care homes and highly valued by residents, families and staff alike. Flexibility is essential for this role.

REWARDS PACKAGE
As well as competitive pay, you can look forward to a role that offers true flexibility and plenty of free learning and development opportunities. As one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers, we take catering seriously and even run a fiercely-contested annual Barchester Hospitality Awards. If you do well in this role it could lead to a permanent one.

As this is a Bank position to provide cover as and when we need it, such as for annual leave or sick leave, the hours and days you work will vary.

If you’d like to use your culinary and people skills in an organisation that provides the quality care you’d expect for your loved ones, this is a rewarding place to be.
