    About the role

    This role is pivotal to the success of the Consumer Mobile team, and a key member of the Finance Extended Leadership team.


    The role is responsible for the Financial Planning & Analysis of Consumer Mobile across trading and financial performance and communication to the Mobile Leadership Team and wider stakeholders. Responsibility for Financial Planning encompasses all aspects of the forecasting cycles (Budgets, Outlooks, Long Term Plan) ensuring key assumptions are understood and strategic aims are delivered within required timelines.


    The success of this role is dependent on the ability to use information and commercial insight to understand key levers impacting performance, influence the Business with corrective actions and help steer profitable growth.


    The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership through development of their team, working collaboratively across Commercial and Finance teams with the ability to prioritise and work in an agile manner.


    As this role requires significant collaboration is across a wide range of Finance and non-Finance stakeholders, both internal and external, strong leadership and communication skills are essential.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the analysis, understanding and communication of Consumer Mobile trading and financial performance across 3 brands with presentation of key insights to the Mobile Board, Group FP&A and Investor Relations teams
    • Responsible for the delivery of all planning cycles (Outlooks/Budgets/Long Term Plan) across the entities within Consumer Mobile (O2/VM/giffgaff) covering Revenue, Margin, Opex, EBITDA, Capex and Cashflow, ensuring proactive clear and concise articulation and storytelling of respective forecasts within set deadlines
    • Business partnering with the Head of Productivity and Step Change for the management of consolidated Opex costs and delivery of cost targets.
    • Finance Lead for the Capex Sub Investment Committee, ensuring approved Capex projects drive return on investment and cost remains within target through tracking approved projects and monthly spend
    • Influencing key stakeholders to drive proactive and corrective action using commercial acumen, data, insights, and trends for the delivery of the Consumer Mobile P&L
    • Reporting on the integration synergies cases and recommending course correction actions where required
    • Supporting the Finance planning transformation programme (Drivers based project) to drive forward a ‘best in class’ forecasting tool that is ‘fit for future purpose’ using team experts to adopt and embed a new forecasting approach
    • Leadership and development of a team of 12


    What We Need from You:

    Essential Skills:

    • Qualified accountant – CIMA, ACA or ACCA (FCMA or FCCA preferrable)
    • Proven finance leadership team experience
    • Strong commercial acumen with ability to influence executive committee members and senior stakeholders to drive profitability and improve financial performance of the company
    • Good communication skills with ability to communicate complex and detailed information in an easy-to-understand manner to all levels of the business
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Experience of managing both short-term and long-term planning cycles
    • Able to prioritise to respond to short notice requests and tight deadlines
