Indirect Tax
Specialist will take care of GCC region VAT compliance for the Siemens energy entities
around the Gulf area (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, and Bahrain). The varied and
diverse work takes place mainly on the screen and in regular, diverse contact
with various domestic and foreign colleagues. Within the framework of the
respective company agreements, currently predominantly and in the future mixed
in the office / home office.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Prepare,
analyze, and review the data related to the monthly/quarterly VAT returns. - Retrieve
the VAT reports from the SAP and match it with the output & input VAT. - Review a
sample of invoices of each VAT return, considering the domestic compliance
regulations of such invoices and applicable VAT treatment. - Align with
the local tax teams to validate and submit the VAT return. - Maintain
proper records and documentations related to VAT transactions. - Assist the
local tax team during VAT audits by providing the necessary documentations/justifications. - Analyze financial
transactions, identify VAT implications and compliance requirements. - Explain VAT
concepts and requirements to business units and stakeholders. - Reconcile
the output and input VAT accounts with the entities’ books and records,
justifying any differences. - Cooperate
with tax advisors to optimize tax burdens. - Liaise
with tax authorities and negotiates with tax officials at a tactical
level. - Liaise
with regional tax team on international projects. - Pro-actively
identify weaknesses in current processes and identify solutions, to ensure
that tax processes are in place and deliver the correct output. - Track
legislative changes and pro-actively inform the management and business
units regarding any new developments in terms of tax law and tax
considerations.
What you Bring
- An
Academic degree in Accounting / Finance from reputable University or
college - Minimum six
to eight years’ experience in similar function. - Experience
in GCC region tax legislation. - Solid
SAP experience is an advantage. - Advanced
experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. - Excellent
verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as English
fluency. - Presentation,
analytical thinking, communication & accountability skills. - Excellent
communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in difficult
and often time-constrained situations will nicely round off your profile. - Must be
able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline
driven environment independently and within the team with high level of
accuracy.
