    Introduction

    The vibrant Africa Hub at Siemens Energy is looking for an intern (m/f)
    in the field of
    Business Development

    in Huizingen (Belgium). During this 4 to 6 months
    experience he/she will support
    an
    international team of ~10 people in ~6 countries
    in developing new business fields. Our focus
    lies in the
    energy value chain
    from primary energy to electricity,
    across most Northern, Western and Central African countries. With his/her competences, the candidate will primarily assist the team leader.

    This internship requires
    flexibility, innovative approaches and determination. The tasks and
    responsibilities
    can vary greatly
    and frequently as per the team’s needs and
    can be compared to the one of a junior
    consultant.

    Role Responsibility:

    As intern, you will deal with the
    development
    of certain key
    accounts or countries. You’ll perform
    market, sales or project analysis. This includes exploring
    new business models, examining current market developments, and presenting
    these findings. You
    will assist in the development and refinement of such insights to identify strategic
    opportunities,
    working
    close to business developers
    and actively contributing to their day-to-day
    tasks.

    You will develop an understanding of
    regional power markets characteristics, customer needs and Siemens
    Energys market approach.

    Qualifications required:

    The ideal
    candidate is currently pursuing or has recently obtained a degree in the
    following fields: Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, but also Management or a
    related field. He
    /she will need to bring a broad
    understanding of both technical and economic problems
    , as well as:

    • Excellent results at university
    • Superior skills in working with
      Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
    • Basic working principles of power plants (incl. why a kW is not a kWh)
    • Experience in project work
      desired (e.g. previous internships, student research projects, etc.)

    • Strong writing, analytical,
      qualitative and quantitative research skills
    • Ability to work at fast pace, meeting
      deadlines and dealing with more tasks at the same time
    • Effectively deliver results as
      an individual contributor
    • High innovative skill set,
      thinking outside the box

    • Excellent written and verbal
      communication skills:
      • Fluent English required
      • French highly appreciated
      • German appreciated
