Laboratory Technician
A long established heavy manufacturing Company based in Birmingham require two Machine Operatives for their state of the art casting and rolling business.Annual Salary: £27,000 to £30,000 (DOE)Weekly Shifts: 6-2 /2-10 /10-6 Mon to FriBenefits:

Reporting to the Senior Laboratory Technician, the principal duties of the Laboratory Shift Technician are categorised as follows:
- Verification of Mechanical & Chemical Properties According to Customer Specifications
- Hardness Testing, Tensile Testing, Bend Testing, Spring Bend Testing
- Grain Size Determination
- Spectrographic Chemical Analysis
- Various Supplementary Tests as required
- Generating Certificates of Conformity
Verification & Maintenance of Test Equipment:
- Routine Calibration Checks of Hardness Testers, Tensometer & Spectrographs
- Daily Maintenance of Spectrolux Container Laboratory
- Maintenance of Laboratory Equipment as required
Routine Solution Checks
- Verification of Acid tank strengths & recommending additions
- Verification of Degreaser tank strengths & recommending additions
- Verification of Benzotriazole strengths & recommending additions
Structural Analysis:
- Routine Macrosections of cast structure
- Microsectioning & polishing as required
Inspection of Incoming Raw Material:
- Inspection & testing of virgin & scrap material
