ACCENT GROUP
We are Team Accent. We were formed in 1966 and have grown in the time since to now serve over 41,000 customers across the north, east and south of the country. We are driven by the fundamental belief that helping to solve the housing crisis will provide people with stability, a foundation for better living and contribute to the nation’s wider objectives for local and national growth. We are clear on the impact we can make across our areas of operation and are motivated by our values, strong vision, and core purpose of providing top quality homes and services for all our customers. We know that we have a large part to play in helping to overcome the difficulties that households on lower incomes face, and it is incumbent on us to deliver our core services to the best standard possible so that all customers feel that it is ‘good to be home’.
It is an exciting time for us as we look to continue the transformation of our customer offer to ensure that at every opportunity, our customers receive a first-class service. But not just that, we want our services to be customer influenced, enabling customers to play a meaningful role in designing services and holding us accountable for the services we deliver. We are proud of our Homes England Strategic Partnership, which allows us to build even more homes in areas of housing need.
We are looking to recruit a Non-Executive Board Member who, as a member of the Board and Committees, will continue to build on this success, offering strategic oversight, expert insight and constructive challenge to ensure we deliver now and for the future. A diverse customer perspective is also important, so we would also like to encourage applications from those with a lived experience of social housing, or a similar customer experience, and from younger people and other under-represented groups.
At this time, we are looking for a Non-Executive Board Member who can bring:

- Social housing, or a similar environment
- Consumer regulation and customer service
- Change management and transformation delivery, including digital
- A strong concept of the experiences of Accent’s customers and communities
- Strong business acumen, with an understanding of the key risks facing a housing association such as Accent
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management experience, with the ability to communicate at all business levels.
Remuneration:
- £9,200 per annum
- Reasonable expenses are reimbursed, and training opportunities are provided.
Time commitment:
- Board meets six times per year with a mixture of in person meetings (Peterborough and Bradford) and hybrid meetings.
