NATIONAL TRUST
Summary
Are you a creative person who loves working with visitors and connecting people and places? You’ll play an important role in helping everyone to feel welcome when they visit Clumber Park, and making sure they get the most out of their day.
You’ll be required to work weekends.
What it’s like to work here
You’ll be working within a team of 5 individuals who love to have fun whilst getting stuff done. You’ll report to the Senior Programming & Partnerships Officer at Clumber Park who leads four Programming & Partnerships Officers working on a variety of individual projects. Development is always possible at Clumber Park and we like to encourage individuals to grow their skillset and use their own ingenuity.
It is a fast paced environment suitable for those who love being out and about. Our core values of ‘Nature, Beauty, History’ will be at the centre of everything you do here, ensuring all aspects of our events and engagement align with our values.
Clumber Park is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods covering more than 3,800 acres. Clumber was once the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle. Although the house was demolished in 1938, there are many glimpses of its grand past to explore. From the Gothic-style chapel, often referred to as a ‘Cathedral in miniature’, you can follow in the footsteps of Dukes through the peaceful pleasure ground to the Walled Kitchen Garden where you can experience sights, scents and a taste of the past.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be part of our Programming and Partnerships team who plan seasonal events throughout the year such as Easter, Summer and Christmas. You’ll be assisting with the planning, delivery and evaluation of these events. Assisting in the management of volunteers, you’ll be a key team player, working with other property departments as well as within your own departmental team.
You’ll be required to be out and about on the park. You’ll undertake day to day responsibilities of looking after our core visitor area and maintaining a high level of core activity for our every day visitor.
You’ll have a level of computer skills as responding to emails, completing planning documents and using Microsoft Office and other software on a regular basis are required.
