A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Project Procurement Manager – Gas Treatment – at SIEMENS Energy, you will take care about a Customer Project to build and assemble Hydrogen Systems and interact with selected suppliers as well as with internal colleagues for the inquiry and procurement of the required components and services. You coordinate the Procurement of all required work packages and components from 3rd party suppliers in close alignment with the assigned overall Project Manager, as well as other functions like the assigned Project Engineering Manager, Commercial Project Manager or Procurement support Functions (e.g. Supplier Quality Management). As a Project Procurement Manager you are responsible for on-time delivery of the goods within the defined quality while also staying within agreed budgets and cost. You will monitor all relevant activities within your project and you will take appropriate action in case of need.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Responsibility for the Planning, Execution and Monitoring of Customer Projects – in close collaboration with the assigned Project Manager, as well as other functions like Engineering, Commercial Project Coordination as well as Erection and Commissioning – in the area of Gas Treatment (H2 Compressor, H2 Storage, H2 Drying)
- Defining Project Procurement Strategy as required by the overall project requirements, creating the overall Procurement Plan and selecting the supplier base in close alignment with the strategic Procurement Team
- Coordinating project procurement execution in the respective phases and preparing relevant project contract structure
- Coordinating Tactical and Operational Procurement and monitoring cost, risks and project schedules
- Ensuring delivery on time, organizing acceptance of the works and managing claims in case of need
- Continuous improvement of strategies and processes in order to optimize project execution and reduce project cost
What You Bring
- Completed university degree in mechanical engineering and/or business administration
- More than 5-8 years of experience as a Purchasing Manager in the field of commodity management, project procurement management and/or international project management
- Intercultural experience, e. g. through a stay abroad in an English-speaking country or through intensive international project experience
- Characterized by communication skills as well as ability to work in a team, negotiation skills and willingness to compromise
- Ability to deal with conflict and you are perceived as a solution-oriented person
- Fluent in Business English – spoken and written
