Let’s tell you about the Role.

This is a role with challenge, growth, and purpose at its heart. It’s a role that inspires others and brings your creative mind to life.

High Street Brighton specialises in supporting people who may be autistic, have learning disabilities, mental health conditions and or be transgender, non-binary, gender diverse, or gender exploring. Gender diverse people present with needs and challenges that differ to non-gender diverse individuals, which necessitates a specialist approach.

Part of your role within this specialist support team will be to help people through any additional challenges they may face due to their gender identity. You will receive specialist training on how to ensure the additional needs of those we support are met. The journey for people we support who are gender diverse is a challenging and sometimes distressing one.

From supporting people with going about their everyday life, to helping people to helping people to access their LGBTQ+ support networks and communities, you will help people we support to explore their potential, their interests, and their passions. You will also be assisting people to keep and attend gender related medical appointments, and helping people explore different ways to help manage their gender dysphoria, your role will be a crucial part of their journey.

Your natural understanding nature will help gender diverse people through essential tasks that they may find triggering due to their gender dysphoria. This trust you create will be truly valuable to gender diverse people you support, as they will value the understanding of their situation and bond and that you have created.

The goals and ambitions of those we support are at the forefront of all that we do, and you will play a huge part in making this happen, we call it ‘Sharing Moments. Shaping Lives’.
