Accounts Assistant



    Accounts AssistantWe are currently seeking a diligent Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working with numbers, and is looking to further their career in accounting. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our accounts department, providing support with a range of financial tasks.

    Day-to-day of the role:

    • Assisting with the preparation of financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable
    • Completing purchase orders and managing payroll
    • Completing bank reconciliations
    • Entering financial information into appropriate software programs
    • Managing company ledgers
    • Coordinating internal and external audits
    • Verifying balances in account books and rectifying discrepancies
    • Verifying bank deposits and payments
    • Processing expense requests
    • Handling accruals and prepayments
    • Managing monthly budgeting tasks
    • Encoding accounting entries for data processing
    • Sorting financial documents and posting them to the proper accounts
    • Reviewing computer reports for accuracy and meticulously tracing errors back to their source

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant
    • Familiarity with finance regulations
    • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
    • Hands-on experience with accounting software
    • Proficiency in MS Excel
    • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
    • Strong organisational and time-management skills
    • AAT qualification is desirable but not essential
