HGV Shunter Driver (C&E Tipper Trailers)

    As a HGV Shunter Driver (C&E Tipper Trailers) for this Lincolnshire based Wood Biomass
    Processing business, working on 5 from 6 days from 08:00am to 4:30pm, with x2 Saturdays to be worked each month on rota)
    you will successfully transport raw wood chip materials & finished wood products (wood pellets), across the companies site, supporting the manufacturing team in processing virgin wood chip into high quality Wood Pellet products (fine grinding, milling & drying of wood chip, processing them into wood pellets for fuel, animal bedding & cat litter), helping the UK to significantly reduce landfill waste & promoting a sustainable future, producing a valuable renewable alternative to finite fossil fuels.

    You will be an experienced HGV C&E professional, with tipper trailer & flat trailer haulage skills
    , ideally gained from within a Wood Processing or General Waste Recycling, Biomass, Forestry or Aggregates products industry sector.

    You will be comfortable moving articulated loads around tight confined yard area / loading & unloading spaces & across a busy recycling yard.

    This HGV C&E role, could also suit a professional driver with a background in tipper trailer work, hauling in & out of landfill sites or similar Wood Yard or Waste Recycling type facilities.

    HGV Shunter Driver Duties:

    • Operating an HGV (C&E) tractor unit, shunting tipper trailers across the processing site.
    • Manoeuvring laden & un-laden trailers to a neighbouring sister site / other storage facility.
    • Observing & or assisting, with the loading / unloading of tipper trailers (or flat beds).
    • Using the company’s weighbridge to weigh in & out any goods.
    • Completing any required paperwork for internal processes.
    • Inspecting, maintenance checks & cleaning of HGV vehicles & trailers
    • Coupling & uncoupling trailers
    • Safely parking trailers

    HGV Driver Attributes:

    • HGV C&E license to haul / move articulated trainers.
    • HGV C&E Shunting experience from within Waste Recycling is ideal or similar.
    • Tipper trailer & flatbed trailer experience (plus exposure to curtain sider / containers).
    • Knowledge of WAMITAB would be useful (not a must).
