Procurement Management (PPM) support for demands within the Siemens Energy
Service Controls & Digitalization organization and in North America.
    • Actively lead business projects with all sourcing requirements
end-to-end (from project kick-off to delivery/installation) as the
      assigned PPM.
    • Sourcing Suppliers, evaluating them as well as closely reviewing
their quality and processes. This will require traveling to suppliers’
facility and reviewing their manufacturing processes (20-30% travel may be
      required).
    • Establish sourcing processes, control all Procurement activities in
the project and inform all involved within team to deliver optimum impact
for the business (Procurement plan, target-costing) relating to budget,
availability, delivery requirements, timeline and quality.
    • Analyze scope of supply, contractual obligations and exactly
understand customer’s functional needs. Identify procurement risks,
opportunities, potential changes, claims and market forces during the
entire project, together with Project Management, Commercial team, Global
Commodity Management, etc. to avoid potential damage / exploit potential.
    • Bid preparation / Contribution to increased hit rate Support project
calculation with reliable and up-to-date cost data based on Total Cost of
Ownership (ToCO) (rock-bottom price information where available). Include
(supplier) innovations (e.g. through concept competitions) that improve
Siemens’ cost position and/or the customer’s benefit.
    • Derive Procurement strategy for assigned projects in accordance with
organization’s Procurement strategies and ensure implementation (pooling
or utilization of master contracts). Introduce negotiation recommendations
together with Commodity Management to prepare for negotiations with
suppliers (back-to-back where appropriate) and to initiate appropriate
measures. Act as a commodity manager for specific commodities within the
      region.
    • Lead contractual and price negotiations and/or support assigned
buyers responsible for particular material fields to secure project
targets with optimum conditions. Act as a lead buyer on specific and more
      complex purchasing demands.
    • Ensure that major Procurement risks, changes to original scope of
supply and potential claims (towards customers and suppliers) are covered
in valid contracts. Ensure that contractual obligations (towards the
customer that must be fulfilled by supplier) are covered in a way that
      mitigates the own risk exposure.
    • Proactively ensure status visibility about availability of
materials, parts and resources and early alerting in case of deviations.
Clarify internal indicators for project controlling and compiling all
relevant information to submit qualified reports (e.g. for the project
      team, Procurement management team).

related project information (e.g. updated contractual conditions, Supplier
Management data) to keep all project participants and relevant
cross-functional partners up to date. Share standard methodology and
conduct lessons learn sessions. Sensitize cross-functional partners for
Procurement related practices processes and metrics.
