    Projects Engineer

    Fold Hill Foods, a food manufacturing company based in Boston, is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled individual for the role of Projects and Innovations Lead. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation, lead engineering projects, and contribute to the continued success of our business.

    Projects Engineer Responsibilities:

    • Take ownership of projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
    • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to develop project plans, quotes, and justifications.
    • Proficient in AutoCAD to create detailed CAD designs for project implementation.
    • Liaise with contractors, providing technical expertise and overseeing their work to ensure alignment with project goals.
    • Engage with different departments to assess the viability of proposed projects, considering technical, financial, and operational aspects.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address potential challenges.
    • Drive innovation by proposing and implementing new and creative solutions to engineering challenges.
    • Tackle problems with a proactive and innovative mindset, bringing fresh ideas to project execution.
    • Manage a diverse range of projects, from small improvements to larger scale automation machine purchases and installations.
    • Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager on overall project management strategies.
    • Take the lead in promoting energy efficiency throughout all projects, ensuring that each initiative aligns with our commitment to sustainability.
    • Carry out regular assessments to identify areas for improvement in energy consumption and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency.
    • Drive operational continuity from project end to operational take-over and beyond to ensure a smooth transition and maximised output.
    • Ensure all documentation such as wiring diagrams, parts manuals, operational manuals, and engineering manuals are put into our digital storage area.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Electrical and mechanical engineering experience.
    • Experience in project management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
    • Proficient in AutoCAD for creating detailed designs.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate with contractors and manage their contributions to projects.
    • Ownership mentality with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, Lean Six Sigma) is preferred but not essential.
