    Role background:
    As part of the team, you’ll contribute to scaling up the world’s first underground structure built entirely by robots. The role involves refining the prototype system for production, leveraging lessons learned from initial builds to develop next-generation robotic toolsets. This role offers high autonomy with significant impact and visibility.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborating with mechanical designers and software engineers.
    • Developing innovative electrical controls and software solutions.
    • Prototyping and modeling to de-risk development.
    • Ensuring compliance with design and review protocols.
    • Designing and implementing electrical control solutions.
    • Supporting cost reduction targets.
    • Developing products for client solutions.
    • Creating test rigs and fixtures.
    • Serving as electrical control design authority.
    • Specifying control hardware and ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Progressing through the technology roadmap to meet commercial objectives.

    Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

    • Proficiency in low voltage, low current electrical design and schematics.
    • Experience with cable selection, sizing, and fault protection.
    • Knowledge of earthing, grounding, and isolation.
    • Familiarity with safety circuit design and CE compliance.
    • Competence in specifying electrical components and working with battery-powered products.
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical.
    • Ability to establish best practices in cabling, harnessing, and electrical design.
    • Experience with volume products (>1000 PA).

    Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

    • PLC programming experience (e.g., Beckhoff PLC/TwinCat).
    • Familiarity with motion controller programming (e.g., Maxon MiniMACS6 range) and embedded systems/controllers (C/C++).
    • Experience with PDM and Bit Bucket.
    • Proficiency in specifying motors, drives, actuators, and sensors.
