    Shift Production Manager (Days – 3 on 3 off)

    £38,500 + Management Bonus 10% + Overtime (potential OTE close to £50k)

    You will be working for a global business who are world leader in their field, manufacturing small components operating a 24/7 state-of-the-art facility (call JMT to discuss in more detail).

    The purpose of the job
    : This is a key appointment on the management team, being responsible for leading, organising and improving all aspects of production on your shift (days) at the Manchester site. Working to develop the Engineering Team to drive safe and efficient manufacturing operations whilst defining and embedding ‘best practice’ standards.

    • A key part of the Management team, the PSM will be performance and process focussed, using data to drive an effective team that are performance focused and culturally aligned with the expectations of the business.
    • Overall responsibility for the safe operational performance of the shift and ensure that there are suitably trained resources to allow the business to achieve commitments made to customers, continually monitoring the production requirements to ensure the resource is correctly allocated.
    • To proactively drive a continuous improvement culture that drives for operational excellence.
    • Maintain and improve upon machine standards, cleanliness, and organisation of working areas.
    • Accountable for deploying the operational strategy, identifying opportunities, and driving operational improvements that further enhance the shift performance.
    • Monitors, updates, and produces actions that through engagement with all personnel continually drives.
    • Works closely with other PSM’s to ensure resource sharing is optimized.
    • Communicates with all areas of the business to ensure the continual operation of the manufacturing process.
    • Overview and responsibility for the shift training matrix ensuring we have the right skills in the right place.

    Background & experience:

    • HNC / HND in Engineering ideally.
    • Production background in a highly regulated industry such as automotive, food, pharma or aerospace.
    • Minimum 5 Years manufacturing experience within a leadership role.
    • Experience in applying CI / Lean principles in a manufacturing setting.
    • Data-driven and analytical
