Episode 10: Comedian Jake Lambert – NEVER MAK THE SAME MISTAK TWICE

After selling-out venues and earning rave reviews at last year’s Edinburgh Festival, Jake Lambert is bringing his show Never Mak The Same Mistak Twice to London’s Soho Theatre soon.

It’s a show all about his mistakes (he was going to do a show about his successes, but neither of them were very funny).

Jake had a big year last year: after his first TV appearance he had a stalker, moved in with his girlfriend (not the same person), and is now trying his best to not mess it up, and to be a better person. So then… now, once and for all, it is the right time to go back and learn from his mistakes.

One thing he’s already learnt is that he does not want children; a decision that people find quite hard to understand, yet very easy – somehow – to disagree with, question and condemn. Quite a tough show for a man described as ‘repressed’ by his girlfriend, reviewers, and anybody who knows him. But he’s willing to change, and not mak the same mistak twice.

Jake Lambert first decided to have a go at stand-up after earning quite the following on Twitter, under the handle @LittleLostLad. Before long he had reached the finals of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year (2015) and Amused Moose (2016), and the semis of the BBC New Comedy Award (2015) and the Magners New Comedy Act (2015). In 2018 his first Edinburgh show, Little Lost Lad, earned notable critical acclaim and ‘marked himself as one to watch’ (Ed Fest Mag).

Besides stand-up, however, Jake is somewhat active on the comedy scene as a writer for 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock the Week, The News Quiz, and Bake Off: The Professionals. He’s also been the official tour support for Rob Beckett, Seann Walsh, Tom Allen and Kerry Godliman.
