<p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong> <br>Barchester is all about doing things a little bit differently. And our catering and hospitality is no exception. Join us as a 2nd Chef, and you’ll be providing first-class food and hospitality within a care home environment – food that looks and tastes delicious, is nutritious and which caters for every individual’s tastes and dietary needs. You’ll support and deputise for the Head Chef too, helping to design menus, manage all aspects of the kitchen, control the budget and lead the catering team. You can look forward to advancing your skills – and your career – within the Barchester Chef Academy which offers continuous training and development. You’ll also be able to showcase your talents in the annual, fiercely contested Barchester Hospitality Awards.</p><p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong> <br>To join us as a 2nd Chef, you’ll certainly need to have a basic food hygiene certificate, and ideally you’ll also bring a catering qualification – a City &amp; Guilds 706 1/2 (or equivalent) – along with experience in a similar role. We’re looking for someone with creative flair, good nutritional understanding and leadership skills, all combined with a genuine interest in the people we support. In our homes, chefs are important personalities, highly valued and popular with our residents, families and staff.
