A brand new, low-cost SIM and broadband service for students has just launched that provides mental health support to young people across the UK.

as.one is a brand new service allowing people to subscribe to things like broadband, SIM, mobile, energy, insurance all in one place – with SIM only plans providing unlimited texts, calls and data on the O2 network starting at £14 per month, and broadband packages starting at £25.99 per month.

as.one have also partnered with mental health charity Shout to offer free and confidential mental health support to anyone in distress – where users can text “ASONE” to 85258 where Shout’s trained volunteers are available 24/7 to provide support with anxiety, stress, loneliness or depression.

Speaking on the launch, a spokesperson for as.one explained why this new offering is perfect for students in particular.

“We have a range of SIM-only deals which are one of the lowest priced – if not the lowest priced – on the market at the moment, and we wanted to provide this while also giving exposure to mental health, using connectivity as a link to having people stay in touch. We’d like to extend our service range into tech rental – mobile, laptop, tablets et cetera – soon, followed by energy and insurance products in early 2025, to become a broader multi-utility brand”.

With broadband speeds of up to 500Mb/s download and 75Mb/s upload, as.one’s packages are suitable for social media scrollers, video editors working with hefty files, and everyone in between. A percentage of every customer’s monthly fee is also donated to Shout to assist them in their efforts to provide accessible mental health support for people in need across the country as some people wait up to 229 days for NHS talking therapies.

With plans to introduce sustainable mobile leasing services in the near future, where customers pay up to 30% less a month, as.one have positioned themselves as one of the lowest-cost SIM, broadband and insurance providers in the country in their mission to increase connectivity and boost mental health support across the UK. More information on packages and pricing is available on the as.one website.
